One day my old router just stopped working. I got a replacement from
them and I began to set up the router by using the URL to change the
parameters (including the MAC) on the router to that of the old one.
I got interrupted and didn't finish setting it up. When I got back to
the computer and router the next day, the router was no longer
responsive. I have sent this one back to get another replacement but
want to be sure that it won't happen again. Could it be that the
computer is somehow blowing up the router? Is there anyway to check
that the ethernet card is working properly, that the cable is not
causing some kind of short, etc? Should I just assume that it's a
problem with SMC and wait for the new one and set it up normally.
I would appreciate an e-mail if any of you guru's have ideas on my
problem.
Thanks,
Rich
