There seems to be some problem with the new release at
http://nthcode.s3.amazonaws.com/player/download/beagleboard/kernel/kernel.tgz.
GUI is not launcing. I get to see the penguin on the screen but below
it is the following I see scrolling:

(*) DirectFB/Core: Multi Application Core (2009-02-04 10:41)
(*) fusion/SHM: using MADV_REMOVE (2.6.29.0 >= 2.6.19.2)
(!) direct/Util: Opening '/dev/fusion0' and '/dev/fusion/0' failed
(!) Fusion/Init: Opning fusion device (world 0) as 'any' failed!
-> No such file or directory
(#) DirectFBError [ gdk_display_open: DirectFBCreate]: initialization
error!
(nthplayerui:331): GTK-WARNINGS **: Cannot open display:
Process 'nthplayerui', pid {number keeps incrementing} exited
No pid file found!
Process 'nthupdstop', pid {another incrementing number} exited
{another incrementing number}:nthupdstop exit for reason 0

I'm using a beableboard rev c3 and I copied the usb host image. I
tried logging in as a single user but I can't enumerate the CDROM.
Here's the error message:

[ 111.799865] hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

Any ideas on how I should proceed?

Thanks,
--Krishna/.

Hi, Krishna,

Thanks for trying this. DirectFB requires a kernel driver called
fusion.ko. We forgot to put this in the new kernel package. We have
uploaded it to http://nthcode.com/download/fusion.ko

Please download this new fusion.ko and copy it to /nthcode/latest/
install/nth/module in your rootfs and try again.

Hopefully this will fix your problem!

Sorry about the confusion.

okay. that fixed that issue. But I'm still not able to use my keyboard. Interestingly my usb to ethernet adapter is recognized but not my keyboard. When I plug in my usb-ethernet adapter:

[   79.520324] eth0: unregister 'MOSCHIP usb-ethernet driver' usb-ehci-omap.0-2r

And then i remove that adapter and plug in my keyboard, here's what I get:

[   88.663055] hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

any thoughts? Is there any other means of navigating the screen?

I got my keyboard and mouse working. I had to use a externally powered usb hub, probably the host port on my BB was not able to drive the current needed for my mouse.

Well, it works now...

Krishna, glad to hear it's all working!

We're still working on that new release.  It's going to be great.

Regards,

Peter
