Is there any form of documentation for settings / options or services
running on the NthCode Player. I would like to tweak a few settings
but don't really know where to begin.

1. Set slideshows to auto loop folder or folders
2. Turn on or off network broadcasting. I'm in a very larger network
and it takes quite a bit of time to boot since the player finds so
many network machines to search for shares. Or a way to specify
specific machines instead of searching.
3. Remote access for content or rebooting. VNC or even just a remote
mouse and keyboard so iPhone could be used as mouse and keyboard as
you walk by.
4. Add music to slideshows
5. Add content remotely threw ftp or smb

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi, Matt,

We had not considered the auto loop slideshow feature, but I think it
makes sense that makes sense to change them to just loop instead of
stopping on the last slide. How would you want the music to work with
the slideshow? I can think of a few different ways.

I'm not sure what we can do about remote access at this point, but
we'll look into the networking issues.

Best,

Peter

As far as music either add a music folder to each folder and then
load .mp3 from there or just put .mp3's in the folder with the images
to play. I know there are a few ways to do this but I think you would
want to control the music per photo folder / set. This would allow
custom image slideshows per content.

On remote access how about a web interface like vlc has. A simple web
page with commands like left right up down and enter. This would be
really simple and just mimic keyboard commands on the user interface.
This would allow you to use just about any smartphone as a remote.

Hi, Matt,

If we considered a photo album to consist of a folder containing
photos and mp3s, would it be sufficient when starting slideshow
playback to also start playing the first mp3 in the folder, and then
cycle photos and mp3s continually, but without any synchronization
between the photos and mp3s?

Thanks for your follow-up. Your idea about having a web page running
on the box that mimics the remote sounds good. I can't commit to
implementing it at the moment, but we will certainly make sure it is
carefully considered for future plans.

Thanks,

Peter
