Beijing, China — February 25, 2009 – NthCode today announced NthCode
Player, an innovative new software product electronics companies can
embed in their DVD players, TVs, and other devices, to give consumers
the freedom to play videos and music from their home computers and
Internet services on TVs and other electronics.

Devices running NthCode Player automatically connect to home wired or
WiFi networks and catalog all the videos and music in shared folders
of home computers. NthCode Player intelligently detects when computers
enter or leave the network and adjusts its media catalog so users are
presented with an easy to navigate listing of playable media. This
eliminates the need for users to install additional computer software
or copy and sync media to their devices.

NthCode Player also includes a powerful WebKit-based browser that
makes it easy to find, stream, download, and subscribe to media from
open web media guides using standard protocols such as HTTP,
BitTorrent, and RSS. NthCode Player supports just about every media
format commonly used today and can play streamed and downloaded video
at up-to 1080p HD resolution.

“We made NthCode Player so home electronics companies can create
products that work great in the Internet Age," said Peter McDermott,
NthCode’s Founder and CEO. “We applied our years of embedded Linux
software experience to build NthCode Player from the ground up to run
efficiently and robustly in the tight speed, memory, and quality
constraints of today’s consumer electronics devices.”

Innovative new features of NthCode Player include:
* Zero-configuration networking instantly connects to home networks.
* Media crawler automatically finds, indexes, and organizes music
and videos inside the shared folders of network-attached computers.
* Standard folder sharing works with just about any Windows, Mac, or
Unix computer made in the last decade without the installation of
additional new software.
* Media streamer plays media directly from networked computers,
eliminating the need to sync or copy media to devices running NthCode
Player.
* Support of streamed and downloaded video playback in just about
any format at up-to 1080p HD resolution on sufficiently capable
hardware.
* Streaming station support for Internet radio and television
stations using the standard HTTP, RTSP, and MMS protocols.
* Powerful WebKit-based browser so consumers can find, stream,
download, and subscribe to web-based media from open media guides.
* Integrated RSS feed reader supports subscribing to Internet audio
podcasts and video channels.
* Integrated downloader supports HTTP and BitTorrent protocols.
* Simple UI works with both touch screen and remote controlled
devices
