We're kicking off 2010 with the release of NthPlayer Alpha 4. With
Alpha 4, we've made great progress toward making NthPlayer good enough
for daily use as a connected-TV media player.  (Once it's good enough
for daily use, we'll focus on making it a completely, totally, jaw-
droppingly awesome connected-TV media player.)

NthPlayer Alpha 4 can be downloaded from http://nthplayer.nthcode.com

We appreciate all feedback, suggestions, and problem reports. And we
certainly hope you have fun!  The download is 117MB and can run on a
BeagleBoard or RealTime DSP's OMAP3 boards.

Alpha 4 Release Notes:

 New in this release:
   - Added first part of HTML5 WebApp/Widgets support
     - See nthplayer.nthcode.com/applications.html for details
   - Improved Bluetooth Human Input Device (HID) mouse and keyboard
support
   - Improved wireless networking support
   - Improved user interface

 Known issues:
   - Works much better on 256MB boards than 128MB boards
   - We are still not using the OMAP DSP decoders (audio is fine,
video is low-res)
   - Network video playback is slow
   - Flash player in browser does not support video and often crashes
(no Youtube, yet)

Alpha 5 is planned for release before February 1, 2010.  So stay
tuned!

Finally, from the NthCode team here in Beijing, China and our partners
at Asentio Design in Shanghai, we all wish you a very happy and
prosperous new year!

Best regards,

Peter
