On Saturday a customers hard drive controller failed.  As of Wednesday AM all is well again and it is working as expected.  Except no mail sent before the server came on line has arrived.  Very strange.

 

This has the customer asking about a service that will hold the mail and send it on when the server comes back on line.  Best if it allows for web mail viewing and responding.  Anyone provides/uses/can recommend such a service?

Yup. A spool alert comes to the MSP via text and e-mail too (PP Essentials – they’ve finally got this working mostly reliably 😉 ).

Any number of services provide mailbagging, which will hold email
until the on-prem server comes back up.

Barracuda, Proofpoint, Mimecast, and probably your own ISP, if you
care to ask them.
