The group's guitarist at the time, Warren Cuccurullo, is credited with developing the instrumentation for "Come Undone", most importantly its guitar hook, which he developed while trying to do a re-interpretation of "First Impression" from their 1990 album Liberty. In 2005, Cuccurullo revealed to author Steve Malins that he and Nick Rhodes had originally planned on using the song for a project outside of Duran Duran with Gavin Rossdale, but had changed plans when singer Simon Le Bon took a liking to the music and began to come up with lyrics on the spot.[5]

At the time we had completed and mastered the Wedding Album and had started the cover album Thank You. One day we took the drum loop and bass groove from a demo of mine called "Face to Face" and added the ultra cool guitar riff that Warren had come up with for a new "cover" version of "First Impression". After a couple of hours of tweaking we played the track over the phone to Capitol in Los Angeles and they loved it and said they wanted it on the Wedding album! When Nick arrived that afternoon the intro was carved into a song that we played to Simon that night. He was back the next day with the lyrics and the melody and I think we finished the vocals the day after that. On the fourth day we finished the track detail and sent it to David Richards in Switzerland to be mixed.

In the figurative sense, it means that something has either not gone as planned, or has failed in some way. E.g. a plan can come undone meaning it hasn't worked as expected. A person can come undone meaning that they have lost their composure or self-control.

In modern English, it is the counterpart of "do up", meaning to fasten (by whatever method - tie, glue, knot, zip, velcro). It is nearly always used literally, but when it is used of a person, it normally means that their clothing has become unfastened.

In older English, it could be used in a more abstract sense, so "I am undone" could mean something like "my life (or my wealth, or my reputation) is ruined". Modern readers often find the phrase amusing, because its modern meaning is so closely related to clothing.

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

We've Come Undone offers an invaluable collection of insights and perspectives for any American seeking to survive and combat the culture of fear and asks the questions: what happens when deception and distrust are allowed to permeate the fabric of our society and embed into the weave? How does that affect our behavior and who we become, individually, as a society, and a nation?

In a kind of fugue state, she goes off to Merton College, an academically marginal school, to try to fulfill her dead mother's unrealistic fantasy of her as a carefree coed. At Merton, she becomes the roommate of Katherine (Kippy) Strednicki, whose superficial concerns (about matching bedspreads and curtains for their dorm room) Dolores wickedly denigrates. But Kippy has something Dolores genuinely covets, a boyfriend back home who's so saintly in his sentiments that he has rejected his girlfriend's sexual overtures. Dante Davis sends Kippy nude photos of himself as compensation, and Dolores intercepts and steals the photos and his letters. Dante becomes her obsession, but he remains a most unlikely conquest, and in her loneliness Dolores succumbs to the persistent advances of a similarly obese and self-hating cleaning woman named Dottie, whom she treats with misdirected cruelty.

John Updike once observed that J. D. Salinger loves some of his characters "more than God loves them," which might also be said about Wally Lamb. Excess is tolerable, however, when those characters are equally endearing to the reader, as Dolores Price is, even in her most self-deprecatory moments; this reader kept rooting for her to overcome all adversity and find peace and happiness. Poor, doomed Bernice also earns our sympathy, and Thelma's inability to respond properly to both women is as affecting as their yearning for her to do so. There are less defensible excesses, though, especially of topical plot turns: toward the end of this intensely introspective novel, Dolores faces abortion and infertility, and she encounters AIDS, Parkinson's disease, hints of the Holocaust and the plight of the whales.

In this extraordinary coming-of-age odyssey, Wally Lamb invites us to hitch a wild ride on a journey of love, pain, renewal with the most heartbreakingly comical heroine to come along in years. At once a fragile girl and a hard-edged cynic, so tough to love yet so inimitably lovable, Dolores is as poignantly real as our own imperfections. She's Come Undone includes a promise: you will never forget Dolores Price.

A record 2,304 metric tons of cocaine was manufactured in 2021 around the world, mostly in Colombia, Peru and Bolivia. That year, nearly a third of the cocaine seized by customs authorities in Western and Central Europe came from Ecuador, double the amount reported in 2018, according to a United Nations report citing data from the World Customs Organization. Large drug busts have become more frequent and within the past month, European authorities have made record-setting busts after inspecting containers carrying bananas from Ecuador.

As an avid art collector, Kylie feels that art is a relationship. The artist and the audience become linked through their stories and the works become records of times in the lives of both the artist and the individual who has been drawn to that particular piece. There is an energy that exists in these representations, beyond what is visually perceived. Art is a gift to give, to inspire and ignite, to transcend and connect our unspoken fears and dreams; a shared understanding. Art is the invisible thread that births creativity and energy in us all.

In the fall, Dante admits he was fired in June after being accused of being sexually involved with a student. Months pass, and he becomes more irritable and angry, hitting Dolores on one occasion. When Dolores finds Dante and his student on the couch half-naked together, she screams at him to leave. A week later, her grandmother dies, and Dolores calls Dante for help. He tries to plead forgiveness and uses Dolores for sex again, but in her loneliness, Dolores takes him back.

One of the most frustrating scenarios I come across as a sleep consultant is when parents have done the hard work of teaching their baby to sleep well, and then suddenly, that baby becomes a toddler, and their sleep is terrible again.

Your baby isn't a baby anymore. They walk, talk, and test boundaries in many areas of their life. Boundary testing is normal, but when it starts to affect the quality and quantity of sleep for everyone in the family, it becomes a problem.

Most toddlers have learned negotiating tactics, and many have STRONG personalities. These personalities will serve them well in life, no doubt! But, these strong personalities do present some issues for parents when it comes to setting boundaries.

When Eric assaults Dolores at a party, she kicks him and runs away to Dottie, who has sex with her. Dolores, determined to not be a lesbian, kills Dottie's fish and runs away again to Cape Cod for an even bigger fish. Well, a whale. She checks into a motel on Cape Cod and calls her mom's best friend, Geneva. Then Dolores finds a beached whale and beaches herself right beside it. The cops come and find Dolores, who hopes to just die there.

Eventually they divorce, Grandma dies, and Dolores moves into her house all by herself. Roberta comes back into the picture, and they become friends, and Dolores goes back to school where she meets a hunky giant named Thayer. After an on-again off-again relationship, they decide to keep it on-again. Thayer takes Dolores on a whale watch, and she gets to see one up close. A live one for a change.

Not many, though, have a hidden set of male genitals, and when an emergency-room visit reveals that Callie is indeed among that tiny fraction of the female population, she can no longer wait in hiding for nature to correct itself. Her mystified parents take her to New York, where the protocol of a world-famous sexologist proves too much for her to bear. Callie runs away and begins a cross-country odyssey of self-discovery, by the end of which she will have become Cal.

Let the record show this Denver season officially came undone somewhere between the time frustrated Broncos rookie running back Knowshon Moreno shoved teammate Brandon Marshall on the Denver sideline and veteran cornerback Champ Bailey quietly slipped out a side door of a somber locker room after first place in the AFC West had been surrendered.
