Morning All,

I know we have to give them time but this lot have pretty average CV’s:

Your thoughts?

Cheers

Paul.

To be honest I knew nothing at all about Nuno's backroom staff, so at least I know a bit about this crew. I don't know how it compares to any other backroom staff or how big a difference they actually make (my guess is that fitness and analytics are probably the two most important - as I reckon these are the two areas that Italy excelled over England on the weekend).

More importantly than backroom staff, I'd like us to recruit some experienced talent on the pitch. We need at least 1 new midfielder - probably two with Neves on his way out. And at least 1 more experienced defender. My major concern with Lage is that his main experience is in improving young talent - so we could become a "buy to sell" club - which means we'll never get past mid-table at best.

Sad to see Rui go - he seems like a real gentleman and was a great shot stopper. He is less good at distributing the ball - especially long kicks. So I hope Jose Sa is better in that department. It also seems like a good bit of business for a 33 year old keeper. And who would want to play under Mourinho, knowing that the rest of the team and yourself will be blamed for every loss...

I'm fully expecting us to get relegated this season. But after the last forty years it's really hard to snap out of that mindset.

I'm less worried about Bruno taking over but we seem to be making a lot of changes to the team all at once, and we know how that works out for teams like Fulham when they get promoted and try to buy in a new team.

Our midfield has been crying out for a refresh but we need to get the right players in as there will be two new players.

100% Steve, Our Midfield definitely needs a refresh. In fact so does our Defence and Attack. Boly gives the ball away far too much for me. So a new Centre back, 2 x central midfielder’s and a class Striker are the minimum for me.

Sad to see Patricio go but he wanted to work with Mourinho. Better to get 10 million for him now than nothing next year.

Hoping we keep Neves.

If Chelsea want to pay us 50 million for Traore we should snap their hands off. Unplayable when he gets it right but again gives the ball away too much for me and our attacks then break down. He didn’t do this as much in the 2019/20 season, probably because we were on top for more of the games.

Anyway, it will be an interesting few weeks and think we will make top 10 with the right signings.

Looking forward to our get together.

Cheers

Paul.

$3.10 for a top 10 finish, I’m on.
