The Georgia Institute of Technology’s Wellness Empowerment Center (WE Center) is pleased to announce that a search is underway for a VOICE Advocate. VOICE, is Georgia Tech's sexual and relationship violence prevention and survivor support initiative based in the Wellness Empowerment Center. Launched in 2002 and expanded in 2015, VOICE provides support to victim-survivors of sexual violence as well as educates the campus community about healthy relationships and sexual violence. Sexual violence is an umbrella term that includes sexual harassment, stalking, dating and domestic violence, and sexual assault and rape. The mission of VOICE is to create a campus culture that encourages respect, communication, and equity among the Georgia Tech community.
VOICE Advocates are primarily responsible for providing confidential crisis intervention and direct services to GT students who are victim-survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and/or stalking. This position is also responsible for responding to phone calls and accompanying students to law enforcement and sexual assault centers during evening and weekend hours as part of VOICE’s 24/7 on-call system.
