Job Description
The RSVP (Relationship & Sexual Violence Prevention) Center Education Coordinator will develop and implement programs, coordinate data collection and assessment on initiatives within the center that contribute to the sense of belonging and community, academic, social, and personal development, educational, cultural, and leadership development.
The ideal candidate would possess strong analytical skills, capacity to respond well to persons in distress, ability to work in an autonomous environment, discretion and sound judgment. This professional is someone who will provide support and guidance to various students in the RSVP Center. Their work should contribute to a healthy campus community that actively encourages and supports all students to learn and grow academically, socially and emotionally through identity and gender-based violence prevention initiatives related to healthy relationships, effective communication, bystander action, and support for survivors.
The Education Coordinator position is a twelve-month, full-time position. Supervision is provided by the RSVP Center Assistant Director. Some weekends and evenings required.
Duties of this potion include, but not limited to, the following:
Shift
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
• A master’s degree in social work, psychology, educational leadership, college student development, or college personnel management.
• 2 years of experience working with trauma informed practices and/or underrepresented groups on a college campus; including program planning and implementation.
• Hold National Advocate Credentialing Program certification or willing to obtain one within 9 months of employment.
• Experience and comfortability working with topics such as sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual harassment, rape culture, bias, discrimination, oppression, and the intersection of all the above.
• Previous experience supporting and working with underserved and underrepresented clients; including but not limited to underrepresented races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, ability statuses, religions, and cultures.
• Cultural competence and knowledge for developing and facilitating trainings on diversity, social justice, unconscious bias, bystander intervention and other related topics.
• Ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
• Knowledge and application of higher education research and best practices from college student development theory and student success
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $18.50 - $26.45 per hour, paid on a biweekly basis.
