The Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault is hiring! We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team in providing guidance, inspiration, and support to the anti-sexual violence field. We are looking for outstanding relationship-builders and communicators, who enjoy solving complex problems. We value both life experience and professional experience. Our work is highly specialized, and all positions at IowaCASA require on-the-job training. We encourage applicants with a wide range of work experience to apply.

IowaCASA’s Communications Coordinator develops and executes strategic communications plans and tactics for internal and external
audiences. The Communications Coordinator leads content creation efforts, including publications, branding and messaging, and social media. This means that you will:

  • Design and implement communications in alignment with IowaCASA's mission, vision, and values.
  • Serve as a communications resource for news media and pitch stories to key news outlets.
  • Act as ambassador and public representative for IowaCASA, IowaCASA's member programs, and survivors of sexual
    violence.
  • Find solutions to complex problems.
  • Lead the development of written and electronic publications and other products including but not limited to newsletters,
    flyers, and brochures.
  • Collaborate across multiple platforms to advance IowaCASA’s online presence including management of multiple IowaCASA
websites (www.iowacasa.org, www.iowavictimadvocates.org, and www.safeyouthcollaborative.org) and social media
platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube).
  • Provide technical assistance to the coalition’s member programs on media response, effective messaging, best
    practices, and social media management.

Studies have shown that women, nonbinary folks, and People of Color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every single one of the qualifications as described in a job description. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization and we are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job. That candidate may be one who comes from a background less traditional to our field of work, and that’s okay. We would strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't believe you meet every one of the qualifications described. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we strongly encourage people of color to apply for open positions. IowaCASA strives to be an actively anti-racist organization and acknowledges that this is a work in progress. The salary for this position is $60,000 annually, with an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental, and life insurance, retirement, generous paid leave, and flexible hours.
