The Safe Office Counselor/Advocate provides comprehensive survivor response services and trauma-informed clinical interventions to Reynolda campus students who have experienced sexual violence, sexual harassment, stalking, or interpersonal violence. With oversight from the University Counseling Center, the Counselor/Advocate provides support to survivors, as well as collaboration on campus prevention efforts with the Office of Wellbeing Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator. The Counselor/Advocate works to build relationships and connections with the Title IX Office, University Police, Residence Life & Housing, as well as other campus and Winston-Salem community entities to ensure there is a broad network of resources to aid survivors. The Safe Office Counselor/Advocate provides both psychological/emotional crisis stabilization and practical assistance accessing the necessary accommodations following the experience of interpersonal violence. The Counselor/Advocate works closely with campus constituents to facilitate trauma-informed practices across the WFU community.
