NSS INTO THE FINALS OF KERA FOOTBALL 2014

What a fantastic day of football. The quarter final matches were the most tightly contested ones in KERA history. All games except the NSS-A vs CUBA went to extra time. Eventually NSS-A, was joined by CETA, REC-A and KEE.
In fact NSS-B delivered another emphatic performance on why they are not a regular B team but a top 4 team. They had the toughest oppositions and held their own, REC-A ( finalists and winners from previous seasons), A new and improved MACE, and KEE ( former finalists). They took the game away from KEE, took control, but a last minute equalizer from the most unlucky of moments for us, but one in a million chance for KEE pushed the game to extra time. It was all level even at the end of that, and then the first game to be decided on penalties, here unfortunately, we lost. The eagerly awaited NSS-A vs B semi had to be shelved for another season.
Special credit to NSS-B, Captain Siby, he played a captains innings and lead from them front. Jerin, lion heart, tremendous support in defense and attack and also going past players with power and skill. Ajith, stood as the impenetrable wall and defended with great presence of mind. Irshad, played the best games we have seen, helped the team get this far with his lethal crosses, shots. Young to KERA footy, the goalie Farooq, was a safe net for the long shots and corners and I can see him only improving as we go on. Jimi, was the teams work horse, ran himself aground, created the goal and got man handled because of the menace he was creating. Empee was the lone forward and it was tough on a day like this , with little support to score. Kabir was a revelation, got the goal and always a threat. Prashant put in an effort but unlucky to have his penalty ruled off. For Basil and Tony this is more experience, they will be coming back stronger next time round in central roles.
It was a memorable battle, and you were ever so close, it hurts me, I am sure you are gutted, but let's take away what we learned, where we proved our strength, build on that, where we are lacking, let's look to create more there. You were a far different team than you were last year, the best team B yet.. In my view a definite top 4 team, .. A team any other would fear to encounter.. You have earned it, our respect, our admiration and you have motivated us to go beyond ... The bulls legend continues..
Now, Team A needs your support, we are the first team to qualify for the finals, which is next Friday, 9:30 PM. We need your energy and support from the side lines.
Let me turn the attention to TEAM A. Captain KK is inspirational and his winning the aerial balls is the best in all of KERA and he also scored perhaps the goal of the tournament so far, the running in the middle of the field and the left footed shot that went curling on to the left post and into goal securing the win in the semi finals.. Gautam is by miles the best mid fielder in KERA , his energy, commitment and skill is unmatched and his first goal against KEE shows how destructive he can be. Vipin and Hadhi combined are becoming a real head ache to every defense, the trios movements is just crazy upfield. This is the best combination of attack, we have ever fielded, What a treat to watch, and Hadis finishes and Vipins aggressive play and tenacity to chase down every ball , that's what's winning teams need. In the middle Rajeev's control and from the back my myself, Fasalu , Arjun , Gopesh and KK, we just love to support you.. Abdu has not been tested too much, but semis he had some shots to keep out and some corners to deal with.. Safe hands, as safe as they come...
Fasalu has to go to India, thanks Fasalu for your efforts so far, have done more than your share in getting us here.. Have a safe trip..
Anvar has returned and he demonstrated his ability upfront and we are looking to find a place there for him rather than at the back.. He was unlucky yesterday not to get a goal, great moves, getting past players and passes..
We need to remember, it's one game, 40 minutes.. We need not keep a reserve, go at it with all you got, run hard and fast, don't give the opposition any time on the ball, all players esp forwards must track back if you lose the ball, we cannot have a situation where we are under attack and the shape looks 3-3 only 3 in defense.. What we have done so far, keep the same discipline..
Special mention to team managers and coordinators, Sreejith, Prashant Ayappan, Dinesh, and babu .. We need your brains working to half us adjust/adapt quicker...
I also want to that the fantastic crowd and the support, that's extra energy, Prashant, Ratheesh, thomas , kishore, moideen , Faisal, Sujith., Sudheer, Dileep, ,, we always expect you by the sidelines...also our very Pazhassi raja and mates...
Do come and support us next week.... Remember 9:30 PM, Friday the 7th, Corner ground, next to Lulu Hypermarket, Ghusais, adjacent to Dubai Scholars School...

If we display the same effort of the Semis, nobody can stop us. Ideally, a few more goals should have told the real story.We were far better than the 2-0 result.
KK - let us have a midweek session.
