About Van Mahotsav :
Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival in India, celebrated in the first week of July i.e July 1 to July 7. This movement was initiated in the year 1950 by India's Union Minister for Agriculture, Kulapati Dr. K M Munshi.
About Jashn-e-Van :
Jashn-e-Van is an online campaign by NSS IITD that would be run from NSS IITD Facebook page in the Van Mahotsav Week. The Campaign is to spread awareness among people about Van Mahotsav and the importance of trees.
How can you contribute?
You are encouraged to submit your own creations (varying from posters, pictures, memes, articles, stories, poems, diary entries etc) or even share online content that captures the need, experience and essence of the festival (i.e. tree plantation).
Your entries would be shared from our Facebook page on 7th July 2016. The people who give the best entries would be rewarded with titles. You could very well be the next Jungle King/Queen!!
Other than this each day along with some posts, we will also be sharing some questions. You are encouraged to boost the campaign as well as your knowledge by answering the 'paheliyan' we have got for you !!
