FRIENDICOES, Jangpura
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.” - Anatole France
About Friendicoes, Jangpura:
The Friendicoes center in Delhi serves the dual purpose of a shelter as well as a hospital. Apart from abandoned & lost pets, sick strays, the occasional bird and monkey in distress also make their way to Friendicoes Delhi shelter. At any point of time the place has around 450-500 animals in residence. Most of them are in transit, recuperating from injuries or sickness before going back to their respective areas. Only a few permanent residents call this center home. It also functions as the adoption center for all Friendicoes animals.
What can we do?
A lot actually! Most of the dogs have to be kept tied or confined to cages due to space constraint as well as for health reasons so if we can just take the dogs on walks then the dogs and staff will be very thankful to us. We can play with the cats and dogs there. Showing them some love and care may eradicate some of their pains. The place can be helpful to those also who are afraid of animals but want to get rid off it.
