Report - First Annual General Meeting of AMIGOS - 11th August 2013

Dear Friends,

The First Annual Gettogether of AMIGOS - the Association of former members of Bachelor of Commerce (1996-'99 Batch) of N.S.S Hindu College was held at Hotel Adens, Changanacherry on 11th August (sunday) 2013. The meeting was attended by the following fifteen members of the association:

2)   Praveen S

3)   Vinod Kumar S

4)   Tharun Kumar

5)   Shivakumar

6)   Manesh K. S

7)   Girish

8)   Sunish Kumar

9)   Ambili V. R

10) Indu S Nair

11) Raji Krishna

12) Raji K. Nair

13) Swapna C. Kalathil

14) Sheeja Raju

15) Renjini

 

The meeting which started at 11:00 am decided to create a managing committee and nominate the following members as office bearers of the committee with responsibilities given against their name for a term of one year:

 

President             -   Praveen S

Secretary             -   Gopikrishna Pillai M. G

Treasurer             -   Vinod Kumar S

Vice-President     -   Raji Krishna

Joint-Secretary    -   Tharun Kumar

Committee Members       -   (1)   Shivakumar                  (2)   Raji K Nair

 

The two committee members shall act as coordinators and advisors to the managing committee.

 

The meeting also resolved to constitute a formal association and register the same at Ernakulam under Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 with the name "AMIGOS". Mr.Vinod Kumar, who apprised the members about the legal side of the registration, was formally authorised by the members to fulfill the necessary formalities to register the association. Mr.Vinod Kumar was also authorised to draw such amount from the consolidated fund of the association, as would be required to meet the clerical, legal and other expenses associated with the registration. Mr.Gopikrishna Pillai and Ms.Raji Krishna shall assist Mr.Vinod Kumar in the endeavor. The draft constitution and bye-laws of the association were presented before the members who accorded their sanction for the further proceedings in this regard. An account shall also be opened in any public sector scheduled commercial bank in the name of the association eventually upon completion of registration procedures of the association.

 

The meeting also resolved to the following:

 

# Helping each other in their time of help. Involving personally or in groups to help other members tide-out of their non-monetary problems (only with their consent).

# The fund of the association, with the prior approval of the members, could be used for helping the really desiring members in the hour of need.

# The managing committee members, Mr.Shivakumar and Ms.Raji Nair, shall be the coordinators for their respective genders (to deal with their problems) who shall keep the managing committee updated about such requirements, which shall upon receipt of their report in this regard, take an appropriate decision on the subject.

# The association is created with an intention of social service and all members are invited to inform the managing committee of instances where the services of the association would be helpful.

# All members shall work together to rope in support and presence of more members in the meetings and help achieve the assocation objective.

 

The meeting was concluded at 3:00pm after lunch. It was resolved to convene the next meeting of the association around same time next year (July-August 2014).
