NSS Internship Policy
  • We encourage people to find other organizations in diverse fields for interning. Please don’t feel that we’re trying to constrain your scope by only listing certain organizations.
    • If you want to claim hours for any such internship, the internship has to be first approved by NSS IITD.
    • For approval, mail us at inter...@nssiitd.in at least 7 days before the date of commencement of the internship with all relevant details including your name, entry number, mobile number, name and address of the NGO, nature of work involved, duration of internship (starting and ending dates with time of working each day), contact person of the NGO along with their phone number and official e-mail address.
  • All students who are selected for the NSS certified internships or other internships should submit the application online by filling the following form : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Kvpz2keFBsGM8g4pQ62jZIDl_eWXSOpdt2EToEmYCeY/viewform This application should be submitted at least 7 days before the commencement of the internship.
  • After coming back from the internship you are required to mail us at inter...@nssiitd.in with subject: "Internship hours_NGO name_entry number".
    • You must attach in the mail a scanned copy of the certificate awarded by the NGO + a report of the work done by you for the NGO + pictures of your work during the internship.
    • ·The report must include the following sections:
      • Organization profile (what the organization does, a bit about its inception etc.)
      • Your work profile (what project(s) were you involved in and what did you get to do)
      • your day-to-day schedule and work done (5-10 lines summarizing the work done for each day)
      • Experience (any interesting experience you'd like to share)
      • Positives (Any learning, changes etc. you felt after the experience)
      • Suggestions (Feedback on how the internship process could be improved)

    • Interview will be conducted to gauge the nature of the internship. Hours will be given subject to satisfactory performance in the interview.
    • You must mail all of this within one month of completion of the internship, else hours will be deducted.
    • Report will NOT be accepted without a scanned copy of the certificate provided by the NGO and pictures of the internship.
  • NSS hours will be provided according to your work after consultation with your internship supervisor, and subject to satisfactory performance in the post-internship interview. If you are not satisfied with the number of hours allotted, you can always complaint to NSS General Secretary. We are sure he/she would take a justified action but we would appreciate if you discuss it first with the Internships Team at inter...@nssiitd.in .
  • Certificates will not be provided by NSS. They can be obtained from the organization on request but NSS IITD bears no guarantee of such a certificate.
  • Failure to complete the internship/misbehavior jeopardising the internship process / withdrawal post registration / no response to the organisation will result in negative hours being provided.

[In case of any further queries, you can always contact us at ‘inter...@nssiitd.in’. We would be happy to resolve any such queries.]
