hi,
Fill the Vols form sent earlier by Saturday and fill this article details form by 18.9.13. As discussed in the meeting give the name of the article followed by url of the english wiki page and tamil wiki page if it exists, otherwise specify ''no tamil wiki page" in the third row. And choose at least 2 articles corrresponding to ITI syllabus like welding, plumbing, basic electrical wiring etc.. as the nss admins demand so. This link gives the courses relevant to such Industrial training and is approved by NCVT. The list is very vast. So just read through the relevant subheadings. And choose the topics that would be useful to a majority of ITI students like the examples I mentioned.

Mosi

hi,
I've not seen anyone giving the article choice till now. Remember the deadline is 18th.

And here are some tips to guide you in the process of selecting the articles:
  • First of all, do remember to choose only articles with no or small (about 300 words) tam page as mentioned in the meet.
  • Make sure that the articles you've selected are socially or scientifically relevant and at least 2 of them are regarding ITI.
  • If you think the article should be socially relevant, then choose mostly current topics such as rupee fall against dollar.
  • And most importantly, choose articles that will be useful for the Tamil wiki users. Always keep in mind one of the important goals of the project: To reach the people and be of help to them.
Some of the last year's topics were friction, Archimedes, Indian coal allocation scam and Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. You can search them in Wikipedia and see how the articles have been translated. And fill the vols details form ASAP. We will inform about the 2nd meet, in which we will discuss ur given choices, soon.

Regards,
Mosi
