Collection Drive(14th & 15th May)

What we will be collecting :

Mattresses 
Light Summer Clothing, Footwear
Books/Novels
1. Medicines
2. Toys
3. Waste Paper
   

What we will NOT be collecting:

1. Used undergarments
2. Perishable items
3. Ration or cooked food
4. expired medicines

Note : This time we would be simultaneously collecting Waste Paper from all households and hostels as part of NSS IITD's  Waste Paper Recycling Initiative in its endeavor to make IITD a zero emission campus.  

Where would the donations go? 

1. Goonj: An "India NGO of the Year" winner. After maintenance (washing, ironing) of clothes, it delivers the clothes to the needy people.
2. Waste Paper Recycling Initiative:
   NSS IIT Delhi has initiated a waste paper collection project in the campus under which we'll be collecting the waste paper that is generated in the campus and as a part of this project we have tied up with Project Akshar  to get such paper recycled. This recycled paper will be used to generate notebooks that will be distributed among underprivileged kids at various teaching projects managed by NSS IITD.

Note: Volunteers will be required to collect all the items from their hostels and from the residential apartments in IIT Delhi. Drive will be conducted on 14th and 15th May, 2016 (tentative timings: 9am to 2pm). You can volunteer for either one or both the days. Hostel level collection will be organized in hostels both for cloth & paper along with this drive.

After the drive all collected items will be sent to the respective locations and volunteers will be required to manage sorting, packing, loading and unloading of collected items.

Date: 14th and 15th May, 2016 (tentative timings: 9am to 2pm)
