Announcements for the North Street Neighborhood Association:
ArtWalk Update from the 2024 organizers
We had a great time creating the Emerson East / Eken Park Art walk but Sara, Charlotte and Susan (the folks who make up Emerson Eken Arts) are ready to let go of the leadership of it and move on to other endeavors. It’s been a wonderful experience getting to know our community and all the artists who live here, pulling off a brand new arts event that was wildly successful for two years in a row, and bringing city-wide awareness to the arts scene in our neighborhood.
There’s plenty of time to grab onto the momentum that we’ve built if other people want to continue having art walks here.
We’re still around the neighborhood and, who knows, if another art walk is created, we might apply as participants.
We have really enjoyed working with all of the artists and community members who rolled up their sleeves to make it extraordinary. Thank you to the North Street Neighborhood Association and Lauer Realty for their important support . Lastly, thank you to all of the artists who bravely and generously shared their gifts.
In community,
Susan, Charlotte, and Sara

Seeds Available at City Libraries
Madison Public Library’s popular
Garden Seed Giveaway (link is external) began Thursday, March 6 at eight library locations. All libraries (with the exception of Central Library) will offer a variety of flower, herb, and produce seeds for visitors, free of charge.
In 2025, approximately 50 different species of seeds will be available and each year librarians modify their ordering based on both public feedback and observation. For instance, flowers and herbs have been consistently popular across locations, and so there will be more of each offered this year at each location.
