Hi neighbors,
A few announcements from your neighborhood association:
Yard Sale
The NSNA Annual Yard Sale is coming up on June 7th (rain date: June 14th). The deadline to register as a seller is May 28th -- that's only 9 days away. If you've been thinking about clearing out your basement, attic, garage, closets...now is the time. All details are on the
Yard Sale website.
NSNA Neighborhood Improvement Grant & June Meeting Extension
The June meeting of the North Street Neighborhood Association (Thursday June 5th, at 6:30pm) will be extended by about 30 minutes, until 8pm, so that we can hear presentations from the people and organizations who applied for our
Neighborhood Improvement Grants. As part of the process of supporting local projects with our funds, members of the NSNA get to rank their preference for which applications to prioritize in funding.
Bike Week
The Transportation Committee will be hosting two commuter stations during Bike Week. We've added these to the NSNA calendar, which you can subscribe to on our website. The full list of events (all around the city) is at
https://www.madisonbikes.org/events/bikeweek-2025/. The NSNA stations will be:
Tuesday June 3 from 7-10am at Starkweather Path @ Commercial
Thursday June 5 from 7-10am at Emerson East Park (Johnson @ Second).
Cards with Neighbors - invitation from Matt (NSNA secretary)
I've mentioned I want to start doing a few more events that aren't the regular monthly meetings and socials, or as complex as Eken Park Festival. Next one is getting together and playing cards!
Title: Neighborhood Card Games
Where: Bear and Bottle, 601 N Sherman
When: Sunday, June 1st from 3-5 PM
Description: Get to know some of your neighbors over a game of cards at Bear and Bottle. Whether you count cards in your sleep or just like the way they sound when you shuffle, there will be plenty of fun at the table playing traditional card games like Sheepshead, Euchre and Cribbage.
If you are interested in hosting a low-key neighborhood get-together, let us know and we're happy to get the word out. Previous ideas have included book clubs/discussion groups, potlucks/picnics, and more.
