[North Street Cochairs]

Hi neighbors,

A few announcements of relevance to folks in Eken Park and Emerson East.

1) Officer elections for the North Street Neighborhood Association

At the November meeting of the North Street Neighborhood Association, we will be electing a secretary, treasurer, and one co-chair (the co-chair is a two year position, the treasurer and secretary are one-year). If you enjoy being part of the neighborhood association and want to help make things happen, you can nominate yourself at that meeting. 

2) Volker Development at East Washington & 7th

At the October meeting, a representative from Volker announced dates for some upcoming meeting where their project will be presented. Those dates have changed. The new dates are:

October 23 – Urban Design Commission Meeting
November 4 – Planning Commission Meeting 
November 26 – Common Council Meeting

We (NSNA) are working on putting together a Development Committee, but in the meantime, if anyone wants to ask the neighborhood association to do anything official regarding this development, please let us know so we can put it on our next meeting agenda. 

3) Madison Police Tracking Thefts From Autos

The Madison Police Department has notified us that they are currently tracking a string of Thefts From Autos (TFA’s) that occurred between the Webb Darbo area and the Eken Park neighborhood. They are directing patrol officers to provide extra presence and vigilance in the Eken Park area. They have also asked us to share these tips about preventing property crime.
