'From a Seed to the Orchard' - A Business and Technological Review of Apple Inc.
Lewis Endlar and Nick Clarke.
Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Business and Management Systems
at the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. He manages
a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and specialises
in Information Systems, Project Management, Strategic use of IS/IT,
Radio Frequency ID, Multimedia and New Media and Digital Technologies.
Lewis is also a guest lecturer at Salford University and spent nearly
two years as the Technology Specialist for Channel M Television in
Manchester presenting a live weekly slot on future technologies and
developments.
Dr Nick Clarke is Lecturer in Digital Media Design at The University
of Manchester, Facility of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
Nick has 28 years experience of creative practice within the digital
media and design industries, expert knowledge of CAD, interactive
multimedia, and computer graphics. In addition he has an international
publishing track record and extensive experience of expert evaluation
of ICT, CAD and multimedia research projects for the European
Commission (Framework's 4, 5, 6, 7).
Nick is a visiting Professor at University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan,
Italy and the Institut IMAC, Institut du Multimedia et d'Architecture
de la Communication, Paris University II, France.
Prior to his appointment at the University of Manchester Nick was a
Senior Lecturer in Computing and Design from 1992 - 1996 at The
University of Salford and from 1996 - 2002, Chair of New Media (Apple
Computer UK) and Director of the Manchester Multimedia Centre and
Network at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Nick is a widely acknowledged & published Apple OS expert including;
Contributing Editor (Graphics) for MacUser magazine, Dennis Publishing
London from 1989-2004.
His books include The Complete Guide to Digital Illustration, Caplin
et al, Watson-Guptill Publications, USA, ISBN: 0823007847 and KPT
3-2nd Edition – a multimedia guide & CD ROM, Addison Wesley, Peach Pit
Press, California, USA; ISBN 0-201-68809-3.
In 1997 Nick was awarded the internationally renowned Stockholm
Challenge Award by His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden for his
work in Research Services for the SME ICT industries in Europe. In
2000, Nick was made a lifetime Fellow of The European Academy of
Digital Media.
