If you are an attorney licensed in Virginia and requested CLE credit during the 20th Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law Conference –
FYI – Virginia denied CLE credit for the luncheon addresses and approved 12.00 instead of the requested 14.25 credit hours but did allow the 1.50 Ethics credit. Again, this is only for Virginia attorneys.

Subject: CLE Accreditation of ABA Program - 20th Annual
Review of the Field of National Security Law
Good morning Holly,
The MCLE Unit received an official notice from the Virginia State Bar that CLE accreditation is approved for 12.00 credit hours instead of the requested 14.25 credit hours; also included were 1.50 ETHICS for the program(s) listed below:
· 20th Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law, 11/04-05/2010
Virginia states:
· “The written materials were insufficient to qualify for CLE credit as required under MCLE Board Opinion #14. Only sessions with written instructional materials are approvable for CLE credit.
· The sessions “Overview of National Security Topics and Welcome”, “Keynote Address: Directions in Central Intelligence”, “Welcome and Opening Remarks”, and “Keynote Address: Cyber Security” are not approved.”
The accrediting States require you to notify all affected participants of these accreditation decisions. Failure to notify your participants jeopardizes the American Bar Association’s CLE provider status with the State CLE Boards.
Please call me if you have any questions.
