Good Morning:

I hope this post finds everyone well this October morning.

The IEC had asked for submissions for the new board, however, we did
not get many responses. In fact, we only have one response, that of
Andrew Carter. I am going to post his statement below for all to
review, and kindly respond in the positive, or negative, by November
7. It is of utmost importance that we keep this organization going,
and Andrew has so kindly and honorably submitted a statement to do so.
If anyone would like to submit a statement to be nominated/voted onto
the IEC, please do so immediately to my email,
bernadet...@gmail.com. In the event no one does so, and no one
has any objections to Andrew taking on the IEC, I will turn the
organization over to him. If anyone has any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me.

Have a great weekend!

Bernadette

STATEMENT OF ANDREW CARTER

To my fellow National Security Law Society members,
I write currently in application to the position of President of the
International Executive Committee. I am personally interested in the
both the academic and practical issues of national sovereignty,
borders, and transnational conflicts. However, I feel that all issues
related to national security are gravely underrepresented in our
nation’s law schools. For that reason, I hope to promote the study of
national security issues and encourage students to pursue careers in
the field. My experience is relevant to this position and has prepared
me well to lead this organization towards its goals. I have been a
member of the Nova Southeastern University National Security Law
Society since I started law school. I served as treasurer of that
chapter last year and currently serve as its vice president. Much of
my professional experience is within the field of national security,
particularly with the United States Coast Guard. I want to lead the
International Executive Committee because its mission to expose
students to current national security challenged will prepare them to
solve future challenges through the development national security law.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Andrew Carter
