Hi, friends! I am passing this to you on behalf of Hannah, a Washington Post writer who I work with. Please let me know if you'd be willing to talk to her or you can contact her directly at:
"I am reaching out because I am working on a piece that explores whether the freshly imposed onslaught of new laws and district policies regulating book acquisition and lending is creating a burden for school librarians. I’ve heard from some that it’s been much more difficult this year to get their regular book orders approved by higher-ups.
Is this the case where you are? Do you know of any school librarians facing this issue of increased red tape and administrative hurdles when it comes to buying books? If so, can you share this email and my contact information with them – and/or can you pass this message along to any professional networks or social groups of school librarians to which you belong? I can speak on condition of anonymity if it’s professionally or personally necessary, although I’d prefer to conduct interviews with names attached."
