Hold a Microfiction Contest at Your School!

Hold a microfiction contest to build community! In October, students were asked to write a scary story of 100-150 words about our high school, past, present, or future. We created curricular ties with forensic science, freshman English (descriptive writing, conciseness, and elements of fiction), Omaha history, marketing, and even Spanish folklore. We received over 100 entries, and the book club determined the winners. Maybe we'll do microfiction love stories next! Check out our contest page at our site: Microfiction Horror Contest Site.
