Talk on MS/Internships/GRE etc

Hi Everyone!

A large number of students especially from the first and second year are looking forward to foreign internships, higher studies abroad. They would not only greatly benefit from our experiences but also be able to start early and in the right direction. An informal talk/discussion is in the pipeline to aid this information exchange. This event is scheduled on 4th April, 2007 (wednesday). The time and venue though yet undecided, will most probably be the audi, at 3.30-4 PM.

A lot of students contact seniors individually too. This would be a good opportunity to gain some valuable information from everyone. I would request everyone to please give some recommendation on what all topics should be discussed, and also who all are willing to speak on them.

I think some topics that may be discussed are:

a. Taking the right decision on higher studies
b. Shortlisting universities
c. Research/Project work
d. Emailing professors/making contacts/requesting assistance
e. Value of internships etc.
f. GRE/TOEFL/GMAT
g. General discussion time


I would be thankful if all of you can come forward to speak on some topic or the other, as many students are looking for guidance in this regard. The organizers also plan to put up the discussion on the NSIT MS Wiki ( http://ms.nsitonline.in/Wiki) later. I hope everyone will try and be a part of this initiative.

it sounds good, but I say we get the momentum going right here.... i just saw a few of our juniors joining this group, so even though we have been pretty lethargic, i suggest tht if ppl have questions they could perhaps put them up here, and we shoul be able to generate sum discussion on those....
