Guys, the 6th sem result may be out next week.... what are we doing
about the transcripts? Should we get a provisional marksheet made to be
included in the transcript packages or what?

Yeah, I guess it would be better if we could include the provisional
marksheet in our transcripts.
However, a)we would be cutting it fine with the nov 30/dec 1 deadline
so we got to pester the admin.
and b)my percentage wld go down.

the envelops have been sealed and stamped so how do u guys plan to put
in the sixth sem provisional marksheets? are we gonna buy new envelops
and tell then to stamp them and the provisional mark sheets and then
include all stuff in this newly stamped envelop?? also how are we
gonna put the cover letter...... will that envelop in which we put the
cover letter and the transcripts envelop also have to be stamped from
college?

Are we sure that the result will be out a week? I heard ten - fifteen days and later a month.  But if the result does come out, before we post our material, are we bound to include provisional mark sheet? Plus is there any exact format for provisional marksheets?

Well chaps,

Considering the remarkable eagerness of our admin staff to help us, i somehow dont think they'll agree to add the 6th sem marksheets to transcripts that have already been prepared and sealed. So, i guess we'll have to send the marksheets separately to those universities that ask for them.
Besides, it'll be atleast a week before the result's out, and atleast another week before the admin people make our provisional marksheets. Even in the unlikely event that we convince them to add these to our present transcripts, like aakash said, we'll be cutting it a little fine. Dunno about you guys, but i wont be able to devote much time to applications once the endsems start; not unless i wanna flunk.

Cheers.

isnt everyone being a little optimistic, asuming they'll be out next
week??? my guess is tht, you wont see the results till at least after
the 15th, and like aakash said, my percentage will go down.... i
believe tht not all colleges require it, while writing the cover
letter, i suppose we could add a line saying that the 6th semester
results have not been declared yet. I believe the universities tht
required it, sent a mail to ppl asking for it...

and its been 11 days now, and the admin ppl havent given me my
transcripts....

AAARGH!!!!

Ok - it's decided then - nobody is sending in his/her 6th sem
marksheet at this point in time....

Spoke to Dr. Bhatia - the result is definitely gonna be out next week.

The lady in the admin block who does the transcript work said that if
we were to send the 6th sem marksheets later, we'd have to pay 50 bucks
again per transcript. So, people who haven't collected and/or sealed
their transcripts, it makes sense to wait for a while. If the result
comes out, get a provisional marksheet made and include it in your
current transcripts.

If half the students send 5 semester results and half send 6 semester, the others are bound to have trouble at a later stage. Lets all stick with one single decision. People who have only 5 sem transcripts (ie those who have already got transcripts made) If we are to insert our 6th sem result later, then why not do it right now? We would need to courier them again, pay the 50 bucks anyways and moreover even delay decisions later.

But if no one gives 6 result, can we get away with it? lets get a letter from college that only 5 sem results are available.

so what if results har baar ki tarah is baar bhi late ho jaayein? i
mean har baari the results come out later than the initial approximate
date given by bhatia sir, and the admin waaleh, and its already the 1st

provisional banne mein bhi i guess it will take time, (12 days for my
transcripts to be signed)

i dunno... can we come to a consensus and stick with it?

right...... consesus please! some people are actually very keen on
getting their sixth sem marksheets in. I'm fine either way.

Lets assume that result come out around 7th - 10th. We cant get provisional made and placed inside transcript before another 10 days (it takes nearly this much time to get transcripts made). Assuming we get transcripts around 20th, wouldn't it be too close to the deadline to post applications?

Moreover we are assuming that the results must be out by 7th and the college authorities wont further slow down, with everyone getting their transcripts done once again?

But its very important that there is a consensus.

Quite a few of us have already have submitted their 5-sem marksheets for processing etc. This is what we'll have to do:
a)wait till 6th sem results come out b)apply for a provisional c)add the provisional's photocopies and resubmit the envelopes for attestation d)collect these in some 10 days e)mail the packages to univs
I have a feeling that getting from (a) to (e) could take a bit more time than I can afford to wait.
Is there any other solution?
Like someone else suggested-getting a letter from college clarifying that only 5 sem results are available at the time could be useful. Or we could try including it a copy of the provisional as an enclosure outside the official envelope, and then explain the situation("...results annonced the day before mailing...too late to get the transcripts redone...instead these are provisional marksheets made available by college...you are welcome to disregard them if you think them unacceptable")
(I prefer the first way)

We can get a letter from college that although results have been announced but cant be incorporated in the transcripts within the stipulated time and hence a separate attested copy of the provisional is made available to you (and we attach the copy as Anish said). This way the college officially supports us that we cant get the 6th sem result officially in our transcripts.

Hmm... a friend of mine at DCE told me today that our applications may
be delayed if we do not send the 6th sem marksheets now. Apparently,
once the deadline has passed, the universities start assigning admits
to students after reviewing the apps which are complete - the
incomplete ones are of course, deferred.... so, one may lose out on an
admit just because of not sending a 6th sem marksheet now.....

What's your take on this?

What if our application is not accepted in the first place, because we wanted to send the 6th sem result. I think lets attach a letter from college on applications that must be despatched and in those applications which can be delayed, we put the 6th sem result.

What do our seniors say on this? Did they attach their 6th sem marksheets? Were applications accepted with only 5 sem marksheets?

Hey, this is serious. I agree; we should find out from seniors about what they did. Meanwhile, I guess all of us who are appin should go and speak to mps bhatia or the diro (if it'll help) and tell them the problem - viz. the fact that our app forms may be rejected. I've heard that the results are in college; why they haven't been declared remains a mystery. What say, everyone?

Now that the result is out, so whats the final decision?

Lets send only 5 semesters.

We can attach a letter ourselves that results are due any time soon for 6 sem or something. If some one knows some prof in US, can you ask him?

This is important...

We have got the admin walas to give us a certificate that states the unavailability of the sixth semester result. A few of us have already got our copies. Please contact Mr. Mishra at the admin block for your certificate. We are not sending our 6th sem marksheets as of now and are sending a copy of this certificate with every app packet.
