Keep posting the SOP questions asked by each university, along with the
word limit...

here's UIUC's
Please describe your previous academic work in your proposed field of
study and include a personal statement regarding your goals for
graduate study and a professional career. In your response, list
memberships in honor societies and professional organizations;
scholarships, prizes, honors, or other recognition; and give titles of
publications, major papers, or theses of which you are author or
co-author (if published, give citation). Please limit your response to
1000 words.*

Statement of Objectives:

Please explain why you are a good candidate for graduate school. You
should describe why you wish to attend graduate school, what you would
like to study, and any research experience you have. Describe one or
more accomplishments you are particularly proud of that suggest that
you will succeed in your chosen area of research.

The Academic Statement of Purpose should be a concise, well-written
statement about your academic and research background, your career
goals, and how Michigan's graduate program will help you meet your
career, and educational objectives.

The following fields are required on the header of your Statement:

Your name
The name of your proposed program of study
Your 8 digit UM ID (if known

Hi!

Here's what CMU have listed:

Prepare a statement of purpose on a separate sheet of paper. Type a concise one- or two-page statement in the following format:

  • Briefly state your objective in pursuing a master's degree in information networking or information security.
  • Describe your background in electrical engineering or computer science and other fields particularly relevant to your objective.
  • Outline your research experience and list any publications.
  • Include additional information you wish to supply to the admissions committee.

Does any one have any idea what these colleges stress unofficially? Like I have heard about UT Austin being a stickler for high grades.
