Hello Nsbe Boston!
Below is a request for your help with a mock career fair at Wentworth Institute of Technology. They need You! to interview them and provide feedback
Time: 5pm-7pm
Date: Nov.1st Thursday
Place: Wentworth Campus (550 Huntington Ave., Boston, ma 02115) Between Ruggles Station (Orange line) & Museum of Fine Arts stop (Green line)
The Executive Board of the Wentworth Chapter of the National Society
of Black Engineers would like to hold a Mock Career Fair on Thursday,
1st November, 2012. The reason behind this is to give our members,
especially new member an opportunity to have the career fair
experience before going to conferences.
I am asking you, to consider assisting us in this effort.
To participate, I am asking that you represent the company you work
for, and act as a recruiter for your company. You can provide general
background information of your company through brochures, etc., and
have a couple positions that are offered at your company. This way
the members will know possible job opportunities available for them.
In the mock career process, members will approach you as in a career
fair setting, and you will response as a recruiter and hear their
elevator speech, and have a quick interview, etc (the typical process
of a real career fair). At the end of each person, I am asking that
you tell them what they did well and offer some tips for improvements.
This will also serve as a chance for the general body members to
network with alumni and other professionals in NSBE.
If you are interested in assisting us in this venture, please email me
at pres...@witnsbe.org indicating your interest and what majors your
company employs. We are trying to have a company represent all the
majors offered at Wentworth.
Also if you know anyone else that may be interested in assisting us, please let me know.
Regards,
