13 Duty Team
a) Every team must provide competent personnel for Duty
13.1
a) The Duty Team must be able to cover all four duty areas, 2 referees, 1 scorer and 1 time keeper.
b) In the event referees are not available the duty team must cover or make arrangements to have all duties including refereeing covered by competent personnel.
c) Duty Teams participating in games, (fully timed) where there is a 24 second shot clock must also provide a competent 24 second shot clock operator in addition to the other duty requirements.
d) The duty team does not have to consist only of players, but it is the responsibility of the duty team to supply a competent duty crew.
e) If two referees are appointed to the game the duty team’s obligations are accordingly reduced.
f) Duty Forfeit - Failure to fulfill any aspect of the duty team’s requirements will constitute a duty forfeit, see Game and Duty forfeits item 7

Note after 2nd un-notified or duty forfeit or 3rd notified forfeit a team is liable to be removed from the competition.
a) In a team’s first notified forfeit, their opponents will be awarded a 20 (twenty) to 0 (zero) point victory and 3 competition points, with the forfeiting team receiving1 competition point
b) The winning team is entitled to a refund of their game fee.
c) The forfeiting team must pay their game fee.
d) Senior and Junior teams forfeiting without notification will pay the game fee plus a fine equivalent to their game fee.
e) To notify of an impending forfeit, and avoid a forfeit fine in the Senior and Junior competitions, teams must give written advice to NSBA (email, fax or letter) before 5.00 pm on the day prior to game.
f) All fines must be paid before a forfeiting team’s next scheduled game.
g) Non payment of forfeit fines will result in the forfeiting team’s subsequent games being shown as a 20 (twenty) to 0 (zero) point loss and possible further penalties until the original fine is settled.
h) To appeal a forfeit, a team must lodge a written objection accompanied by payment of the forfeit fine, before their next scheduled game, to NSBA. The forfeit fine will be returned if the appeal is upheld.
i) Fielding an unregistered player will result in an un notified game forfeit penalty; 20 (twenty) to 0, (zero) loss, – 3 (minus three) competition points, game fee payable and a fine if applicable to the competition.
j) Playing under an alias or another players name will result in an un notified game forfeit penalty; 20 (twenty) to 0, (zero) loss, – 3 (minus three) competition points, game fee payable plus if applicable to the competition a $200 fine and the player concerned will also be referred to the NSBA Disciplinary Tribunal.
