It seems the police always need to be pushed when it comes to taking
action on rapes of females. This time, there was video evidence and
STILL no charges have been laid.
'Anonymous' has taken action threatening to name the three rapists if
the police don't lay charges.
What the hell is this country coming to if the people care more than
those we've hired to protect us?

Anonymous threatens to out boys involved in alleged gang rape of N.S.
teen unless RCMP charges them
The “hacktivist” organization Anonymous says it knows the identities of
at least two of the four boys involved in the alleged gang rape of
Rehtaeh Parsons and are threatening to release their names and locations
unless the RCMP charges them.
“Our demands are simple: We want the N.S. RCMP to take immediate legal
action against the individuals in question. We encourage you to act
fast. If we were able to locate these boys within 2 hours, it will not
be long before someone else finds them,” the Anonymous group working
under the name “Operation Justice For Rehtaeh” said in a Wednesday press
release.
The group initially said they knew the names of two of the four boys,
but within 30 minutes said on Twitter it knew the names of all of the
alleged perpetrators.
“We do not approve of vigilante justice as the media claims. That would
mean we approve of violent actions against these rapists at the hands of
an unruly mob. What we want is justice. And that’s your job. So do it.”
Anonymous has become involved in similar cases before, most famously,
the Steubenville, Ohio rape case which resulted in the conviction of two
high school football players.
RCMP in Nova Scotia told the National Post Tuesday that all four boys
involved in their investigation are still minors and police are
“concerned” about reprisals.
Anonymous, a loose collection of worldwide hackers, say that other
members of the group are also working on the case.
“Please be aware that there are other groups of Anons also attempting to
uncover this information and they may not to wish to wait at all. Better
act fast,” the “Operation Justice For Rehtaeh” group said to police.
The threat comes on the heels of the Nova Scotia government’s late night
turnaround on the case, saying they are considering a review into
Parsons case, the 17-year-old girl who committed suicide after allegedly
being sexually assaulted by four boys 18-months ago and bullied about
the incident afterwards.
Rehtaeh’s anguished mother, Leah Parsons, took to Facebook and the
airwaves earlier this week, claiming the Nova Scotia justice system
“failed” her daughter, who died Sunday.
After initially saying the government would not be reviewing the police
and Crown investigation of the case, Nova Scotia Justice Minister Ross
Landry appeared to have a change of heart late Tuesday night after a
crescendo of public outrage.
Landry has asked senior government officials to give him options for a
review of the Parsons case.
“It’s important that Nova Scotians have faith in the justice system and
I am committed to exploring the mechanisms that exist to review the
actions of all relevant authorities to ensure the system is always
working to the best of its ability, in pursuit of justice,” Landry said
in a 10 p.m. statement.
‘INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE’
Police investigated the alleged sexual assault, which took place at a
party in Cole Harbour where teenagers were drinking heavily, and in
consultation with the Crown, decided there was “insufficient evidence”
to lay charges.
Chris Hansen, director of communications for the prosecution service,
said Crown attorneys reviewed the evidence of sexual assault and
distribution of child pornography, in relation to a photograph of the
incident.
“They did a thorough assessment of the evidence and determined that
based on the evidence there was no realistic prospect of conviction,” he
told the Post.

Oh well . . I guess the 'boys' will at least be faced with public
exposure and humiliation and targeting by other bullies . . .
