Welcome to the new (Sep 2018) Nova Scotia Rare Bird Alert (NS-RBA).

This is a forum for the public announcement and discussion of rare bird sightings and updates in Nova Scotia, Canada. Please see the guidelines before posting.

Any sightings reported should mention the following:

1. Species Name.

2. Observer name(s) and finder name(s) if not posted previously.

3. The date and time.

4. Specific location (including county) and detailed directions if not a well-known location.

Sightings of species not meeting the criteria for posting should be posted to one or more of eBird, NSBS Facebook Page, Atlantic Canada Birding Facebook Page, or NatureNS.
It has been customary in the past to inform Nova Scotia Bird Society members of upcoming meetings, and this will continue as an exception to the rules above.
