Hi all
Please help me to install ns3
What version of Ubuntu is suitable for ns3?
Can I use the latest version of Ubuntu 18.04 for it without any problems?

Thank you for answering :)
I had problems to installing 3 packages in Ubuntu based on the Ns3 Wikisource page, (such as: libgsl2, python-pygoocanvas, libgoocanvas-dev) that these packages were deleted from the new Linux versions and those are no longer available, but they still exist on the Linux installation guide on wiki page, and so I thought it might be better trying it to an older version.

But if I don't have problems to a new version of Ubuntu(18.04 _ 64b) to continue to my simulation, I'd rather continue with it.

Thank you again

What is the error with these packages?

All errors are:
E:unable to locate package '...'
Or
E: package '...' has no installation candidate

I trying to solve those but by searching on Google I find that these packages are deleted by Linux
I trying to use 16.4 now :(

The errors are:
E: Unable to locate package python-pygoocanvas
E: Unable to locate package libgoocanvas-dev

pygoocanvas package in ns-3 is related to PyVis that it can show your script graphically. Unfortunatally this package has removed from ubuntu 18.04, but you can use netanim module to show your script graphically. Furthermore, the other error is:

Package libgsl2 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
libgslcblas0:i386 libgslcblas0

As specified in the error, libgsl2 in not available, but you can install libgslcblas0 package instead.
Finally, compiling ns-3.28 on ubuntu 18.04 has not any serious problem. Only you can not use PyVis that you can netanim instead. Install ns-3.28 on ubuntu 18.04 and enjoy it!

Regards.
