Hello,

I'm the current maintainer of the ns-3 package in Debian.

I come to you because the package is currently suggesting the python3-kiwi package, that does not exist (anymore?) in the Debian archive. Is this still useful in ns-3? If so, do you guys know how to install this dependency on Debian nowadays?

Thanks in advance,
Mt.

Martin,
It is no longer used. The list of Ubuntu packages that we now recommend
is posted here:

Hello Tom,

thanks for your quick answer, and for the confirmation. The documentation is not very easy to use for me here, because it does not clearly shows which dependencies are compile-time ones (eg, the ones to build the doc), and which ones are useful at execution time.

The dependencies and suggestions of the Debian package are here: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/ns3/-/blob/master/debian/control
You have the build-time ones at the beginning, and then come the install-time dependencies of each binary package. Any review of that list would be really welcome.

Thanks again for your help,
Mt.

PS: I keep forgetting: is it the right list to speak of such issues?
