Merry Christmas!
Please don't expect a quick response as it's the holiday season.
But I'm extremely interested in this topic and cannot help but respond.
I think it would be possible if you could shutdown the packet generation or MAC scheduling.
If there are no packets or schedule to transmit, eNB will not consume energy.
However, what I really want to discuss is, the scale and resolution of simulation time is a much more serious issue than that.
If you have tried ns-3 even once, you can easily imagine how difficult it is to simulate an hour's or a day's worth of communication.
Network energy saving is a top priority topic in today's 5G/6G-RAN. However, those parameters are statistically adjusted over a day or a month.
How on earth can they be simulated? I couldn't solve this mystery this year...
Best regards,
Kent
