how to start learning about program writtting in NS3

Hi,

If you have no prior knowledge of C++, you should start first with that.

Then, you should go through the NS-3 tutorial http://www.nsnam.org/docs/release/3.21/tutorial/html/index.html

for compilation -  g++  filename.e filename.cpp

Where to put ns-3 programs: start by putting them in ./scratch
What extension to use: .cc
How to build: ./waf build (but you have to configure it first)

Work through the tutorial. You'll learn a lot!

hello everybody.......

      i am trying to install NS3 as per tutorial but when i m typing ./build py it is showing that CLICK and OPEN FLOW modules are not built......how to install them please tell me .

This just means that some ns-3 modules that have dependencies on outside libraries may not have been built, or that the configuration specifically asked not to build them. It does not mean that the simulator did not build successfully or that it will provide wrong results for the modules listed as being built.

the tutorial is the obvious answer. If you don't understand the tutorial, I'd suggest a good C++ and pattern book. This is a good one.

    i have written the program it is showing output but i dont know why it is not generating xml file to visualize the node location ..i have included netanim header file and netanim interface.

no idea. Try checking the NetAnim examples in src/netanim/examples.

    i have written a script in NS3 in which i have created 1 server node and 10  client node .when i am simulating it it is only showing packet transfer between node 0 and node 1 not form others nodes.how to do please respond.
