Hi all,

I am trying to build dce-linux-dev on Ubuntu 18.04 with bake and have some problems.

While I managed to get a "successful" build with a Dockerfile adapted from https://github.com/direct-code-execution/dce-dockerfiles/blob/master/ubuntu1604/Dockerfile, the test.py script mostly fails (44 crashes, 3 passes). In the debug log I found the "Fatal error: glibc detected an invalid stdio handle" error message, which lead me to this issue: https://github.com/direct-code-execution/ns-3-dce/issues/57 . Although that issue concerns Ubuntu 16.04, it seems like the same problem.
I have attached the Dockerfile, output of bake download, output of bake build -vvv, and the output of the test script to this message.

Has anyone also run into this problem and knows a mitigation, or is this a known issue with Ubuntu 18.04 and if so, is it being worked on or postponed for now?

Thanks and best regards,

Jonas

Jonas,

This is a known issue with recent Ubuntu/Debian, as you found:

https://github.com/direct-code-execution/ns-3-dce/issues/57

I do not know whether anyone is actively working on it; I could not find
a good hint when searching for this a couple of months ago.  For now, I
workaround by using older Linux releases (Fedora 26) when using DCE.
