Dear All,

I am a beginner at NS-3 and Linux both. I have installed Suse 11,
downloaded NS3.2, python, gcc c++ and mercurial. I have checked it
using the waf commands and everything seems to be building and working
fine. I am looking to RUN ns-3, where do I do it from? I mean despite
searching, I do not find an executable file which would execute ns-3.
Further, I have installed "nam", the network animator. I am having the
same problem with it as well. There is no exe file to run nam.

Please help me

Faraz

Unlike ns-2, there is no ns-3 "shell".  You do not run ns-3, you run ns-3 programs.  For more information see:

Please help me

Thank you very much for your reply.
This means I can run the built in programs and build my own?

Is there is no visual interface, I mean the GUI for making network connections supported by ns-3?

Correct. You write your own simulation scenarios, then compile and
run them. You can put files into the scratch directory to accomplish
this, or you can hack some wscript files.

Correct. As of now, there is no GUI for laying out your simulations.
There is some limited support for generating nam traces in order to
view the simulation after it is over. But I am not sure about the
details of this, hopefully someone else will comment here on how to do
this.

Bhattacharjea!
Thank you very much, this explains much of it.
