I read that Eclipse and Netbeans are unofficially supported with ns3. I worked with Eclipse but it I had issues with the auto-complete feature.
Is there any advice on fixing the auto-complete feature? Is any other IDE more well suited to support ns3?

Best,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

I'm happy with QtCreator. I'm using it for other projects as well, and after an initial configuration phase (related to indentation) I can have all autocompletion I need.  To compile and run programs, I'm using the Console, with no graphical front-end or similar..

I am very satisfied with the Netbeans. Auto-completion works fine... Also, debugging, conditional breakpoints, call-graphs, and many other functionalities like refactoring, finding usages and so on...  I has saved a LOT of my time on development. Only one extra configuration needed. "build dir = ./build"

I strongly recommend it!

Hi João,

Your suggestion worked perfectly! I can hardly express my gratitude. I know it's a simple thing but I've been suffering with Eclipse in the past few months. It's been a torture. Netbeans appears to work as (or perhaps better than) expected.

Best regards,
Arthur

@João Loureiro
Could you please tell me that where to set this setting in Netbeans(Version?).
Also, when I am trying to run the project, it asks for executable. Can we display prompt to enter file to be executed.
I appreciate your help.
Thank you!
