Dear experts ,

sorry for this question,

I am new in ns3 and now I am studying the examples and tutorial ,

for about upload file, when I put I max byte on Bulk send application that  is representing  the file size in real network which I want to upload . Is it correct or Not?
and the download file it is vice versa of the concept of upload

Actually I want to study how much the time take when  I  send (upload data - file size ) to the sink node.

I want to difference between these throughput and goodput,
Really I have misunderstand between throughput and goodput , they have the same meaning ,could you please give me the difference.

Regards

Konstantinos

Hi Jana,

Throughput and goodput have similar meaning, i.e. the rate of received information.
The difference is what that information is. For useful information, usually at application layer, we use goodput, while for lower layers throughput (that includes overhead).

Regards,
K

Yes, it is correct.
But... why are you asking this ?
If you're unsure about a so simple concept then probably you should look for a networking book, not a network simulator.
