I've a scenario where UEs attach to the network at random times. Once a UE is attached to the network, it receives DL data for a random duration. Following that random duration of data reception, this UE stays dormant for the rest of the simulation time. Such dormant UEs continue to consume CPU cycles (e.g., for generating RSRP reports, CQI, etc.). Since there can be a large number of such dormant UEs in my scenario, they cause a substantial simulation slow down. I would like to either remove these dormant UEs or move them to the RRC Idle state. I've not been able to do either of that. If you have any suggestion for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I did reduce the transmission power to 0 and made the UE stationary once it becomes dormant. However, this didn't help with the simulation slow down issue significantly.
Thanks,
Shyam
