Hello all,
Please, how can i add packet loss (error unit packet)  for wireless channel (such as Yans channel)  in wireless ad hoc networks?

Please:
How can we apply loss of packet for wireless channel in ns3 or how can we make the wireless channel erase the packets?

Dear Ahmad,

There are errors on the channel according e.g. the YansErrorRateModel (https://www.nsnam.org/docs/doxygen/classns3_1_1_yans_error_rate_model.html) and they follow the literature (https://www.nsnam.org/~pei/80211ofdm.pdf and https://www.nsnam.org/~pei/80211b.pdf).

You can introduce more errors but that would be an effect of the propagation loss model (e.g. fast fading).

Regards,
K

Thank you for the answer, but i want to apply errors for packets level not for bits level. i found that this kind of error exist for P2P and CSMA.
I wonder if there is an error rate model for packets in wireless channel like that in p2p or csma?

Hi,

the answer is: no there isn't - for good reasons (it's too long to explain you why, think about it).
