Dear all,
I am working on simulating some scenarios on LENA M-5 release to calculate the RSRP and SINR for DownLink and UpLink LTE channels using enable physical traces.
1- the problem is that I got some illogical values for the SINR in the trace file, so I would like to know how is the calculations of RSRP and SINR are implemented inside this release, i tried to searching on that on the internet and inside LENA files but I found nothing !!.
2- Also, i searched for the implementation codes for the different pathloss models which the mathematical pathloss equations are implemented in, But unfortunately, i couldn't find these codes. So please may anyone guide me !.

Thanks.

Hi Ahmed,

the RSRP and SINR evaluations have been recently changed, there were a bug. You may find the update version in lena-dev repository and will be integrated soon in ns-3 (joint with ns3.17 release). You may find their implementation in LteUePhy::CreateDlCqiFeedbackMessage ().

For what concern the pathloss models, most of them are implemented in /src/propagation/model/* and few in /src/building/model.

Best regards,
marco.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your reply, did you mean that the M5 release is now updated with these evaluations, and i can download it again with these updates.
also i have another problem regarding packet loss in handover. i am streaming packets over a scenario like the X-2 handover example, the packets are received normally before the handover and during it.
but the problem is that after handover i got a huge packet loss for the data without any reason for that !

Best regards,
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed,

I mean that only M5 release in lena-dev repository is updated, while ns-3-dev will be updated soon (with ns3.17 release).
For what concern the packet loss, I have no idea on the reason, there might be many causes of such behavior; let me suggest you to study the SINR before and after the HO, maybe the position of the eNB does not allow to correctly receive data.

Best regards,
marco.

Hi Marco,

I also have the problem with Handover. I got many packet loss caused by handover. I already placed the UEs that would do handover in the area covered by both source-eNodeB and target-eNodeB.
The packet loss happened because some of packets (in uplink) could not received by eNodeB. And I do not know why some UEs that did not do handover also got impact of the handover done by other UEs (some of non-mobile UEs got packet loss when handover of other UEs happened).

Do you have some suggestion for simulating handover?

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
Dimas

Hi Dimas,

What ns-3 version are you using? And more details about the simulation can help with understanding your problem (e.g. how do you place the eNodeB and UE, which RRC model, etc.). Can you tell which packet is lost (e.g. DATA or CTRL)? Can try to disable the corresponding error model and see what happen?
