installation in windows with cygwin

hi
i tried installing ns3 in windows xp with cygwin. I intall cygwin and i have ns3 allinone version  3.12.1. I tried to build with the command ./build.py it says "/usr/bin/env: python: No such file or directory" but there is build.py in that folder from where i am working. So do i need to install python? or how to install ns3 in cygwin environment? Please somebody guide me installing ns3 in cygwin environment.

Hi,

At first, you must use the command ./build.py under the path which includes ns3-allinone. The install step is written in manual. Did you try your step following manual documents?

yes i tried with  manual and wiki of ns3.

Firstly i have downloaded ns3 allinone version 3.12.1 and cygwin. Then i install cygwin. I put ns3 allinone in usr/local. Then i tried with the command ./build.py it says "/usr/bin/env: python: No such file or directory" but there is build.py in that folder. So i am wondering if i need to install python first or it is already there.
If you know something can you please guide me few steps for starting...
Also which linux emulation is good for ns3 in windows platform? like cygwin, MingGW, Eclipse and other if any?

I would be grateful if you guide some steps.\

Hi dear,

what can I do next, I have the same error.I use cygwin and can't execute build.py, can you please tell me the list of commands for installing ns3.
