Real traffic video with VLC

Hi all,

By reading the mailing list i got that for simulating real traffic video I can use VLC. I have some question related to that, Why do we need VLC? Is the VLC that you are talking about "VLC media player"? or is it something else? How should i use that for sending traffic to ns3? Thanks in advanced.

Hi,

Yes, by VLC we refer to the media player. This is used to generate realistic application traffic.

To achieve this you need to use the DCE (https://www.nsnam.org/~thehajime/ns-3-dce-doc/getting-started.html) or Emulation (https://www.nsnam.org/docs/models/html/emulation-overview.html)
