LTE uplink scheduler

Hello

I want to implement the following scenario:

A urban area with smartgrid (smart-meters etc.), various MTCDs (machine type communication device) and of course mobile UEs. All of them are connected to a single eNB. I read the tutorial so i am quite new at ns-3, i understand that i can implement all those MTCDs as UEs with different characteristics ( is that ok?). My main question is how hard is to change the Scheduler of the eNB*? I want to run this scenario with a 3-4 schedulers and i read that only round robin scheduler is available for uplink. 

*I am in my Bsc so my knowledge is fairly limeted.
