EFW implementation in HWMP of mesh

Hello! 

I am new to NS3. I am trying to implement Expected Forward Counter metric (EFW) which is based on ETX metric in HWMP of Mesh module in NS3. So I came across click and have integrated it in NS3.

Should I be trying to use ETX metric specified in click or try to implement ETX by myself ? If I have to use click then I am not getting much information on how to use metric specified in click module with HWMP of Mesh. 

It would be of great help if any one could guide me.
