Hi everyone,
I’m currently pursuing my 3rd year of B.Tech and have a strong interest in communication and networking. I’m looking to learn ns-3 and build a good foundation in network simulation, especially for wireless/5G-related research.
However, I’m having difficulty finding an affordable and structured course/resource to learn ns-3. Most of the options I’ve come across are either quite expensive or not very beginner-friendly.
Could anyone suggest some good free or affordable resources, courses, tutorials, or learning paths for getting started with ns-3?
I’d really appreciate any recommendations or guidance. Thank you!
We have a number of tutorial videos on our Vimeo site, but nothing published in the past couple of years. Still, most of the basic material has not changed since then. https://vimeo.com/user29108190/albums
For 5G specifically, I think this is the most recent video: https://www.nsnam.org/research/wns3/wns3-2022/tutorials/
We also have a education page that links many university courses that have used ns-3 extensively, and these sites usually have introductory material for students to learn: https://www.nsnam.org/education/
There may be other videos on YouTube by other contributors since that time, or something on Udemy (I don't know offhand).
Most AI chatbots know a lot about ns-3 and can probably be used as a self-directed instructor.
